Your 20s can be a stressful time in your life. In your 20s, you are expected to graduate college. In your 20s, you are expected to find a job and be a real adult. In your 20s, you see friends getting married and having a family. But who says that in your 20s you can’t take time off from all of the craziness and take a couple of trips? Who says that you shouldn’t put yourself and your happiness first?
If you are looking for inspiration, look no further. Here are 5 trips to take in your 20s!
1. New Orleans
There is so much to do in New Orleans, or NoLa, as some call it. There is definitely something for everyone, from the beignets at Cafe du Monde, the music played by bands all down the streets, and of course, Mardi Gras. I highly suggest if you want to experience NoLa to the fullest, then you should go during Mardi Gras. You can still experience the beignets, but this time with music playing, beads being worn, and people celebrating all over the place. This trip will bring out the wild side in you, so it is definitely a fun trip to take with your friends!
2. Los Angeles
Have you ever been down Rodeo Drive? If you haven’t, I highly suggest it. Of course, an average person like myself could never afford to buy anything there, but a girl can dream. If you need an escape, LA is the place to go. The city is always busy with people working, shopping, or even just vacationing. You could always find something to keep yourself busy, but if you are more of the relaxing type, the beach is always there to lay on and get a tan. This is a trip that you can take with your friends or family, and you are sure to have a blast. That is, if you can take the heat.
3. Atlantic City
When you are in your 20s, Atlantic City is the place to be. Well, it’s really the place to be if you’re 21 or older. That’s because you’re allowed to gamble at 21 years old. There are so many hotels to stay in there, all in different price ranges. There is something for everyone. Almost all of the hotels have nice restaurants to dine at and then nightlife including gambling and clubs. Harrah’s even has The Pool After Dark, which has an indoor pool, DJs, and a gambling pit. Spend your money wisely!
4. Germany
If you want something outside of the country, then Germany is definitely a place to visit. However, you can’t go to Germany without going to Oktoberfest. People wear amazing outfits, drinks a whole lot of beer, and celebrate for about three weeks. Of course, if you are not a beer drinker, don’t worry. There are plenty of other things to try, such as all different foods that are native to Germany. Take a trip here and I promise you’ll have a blast. There are typically over six million people visiting Germany for Oktoberfest. I say you should be one this year.
5. Iceland
Last but not least, another out of the country place to visit if definitely Iceland. I know what you’re thinking, Iceland is freezing. However, is it so beautiful that you might not even realize just how cold it is. When there, you need to visit the Myvatn Nature Baths, which are similar to the Blue Lagoon, but less crowded. These waters are very hot, but it is all man-made. The bottom is made of gravel and sand, and there are even some underwater benches. If you travel to Iceland, this is definitely a place to visit!
Of course there are many other trips that you can take in your 20s, but I thought these were some adventurous, but doable, ones. Now go on, take that road trip or book that plane ticket!
XOXO,
Have Some Wanderlust
