A Day (or Two) Away in New York City

New York City, otherwise known as NYC, is most definitely the city that never sleeps.
There is always something going on, including all hours of the night. If you’re lucky like me, NYC is only a 30 minute drive from my house. However, others might not be so lucky. Experiencing NYC is something that everyone needs to do in their lifetime.
If you plan on visiting NYC anytime soon, there are some places I suggest you try!
If you are staying over:
The St. Regis offers many different amenities for its guests. It is set in midtown Manhattan. Even though the cost can be more on the expensive side, if you are a Starwood Preferred Guest or Marriott Rewards member, you can earn complimentary nights and other perks. It is in walking distance of a supermarket, shopping, the subway, restaurants, the theater, and the train station. It is truly in the middle of the hustle and bustle. Inside the hotel, there is a restaurant called Astor Court & the King Cole Bar. They have a menu for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They also serve afternoon tea daily from 3pm to 5pm. The best part? This hotel was featured on Gossip Girl, so you can feel like you are in the show while staying there.
If you are looking for lunch/dinner:
My personal favorite restaurant in all of NYC is called Osteria Cotta, which is located on the Upper West Side. They are typically only open for dinner (starting at around 3pm-4pm), except for Saturdays and Sundays when they are open at 11am. This Italian restaurant serves small plates and pizza downstairs by the wine bar, and also in their cozy upstairs room. My favorite food on the menu has to be their rice balls and the truffle fries. They are amazing! The food is wonderful and definitely fairly priced for being in Manhattan. If you are ever in the neighborhood, I highly suggest stopping by!
If you are looking for a place to shop:
The best shopping in NYC has to be on 5th Avenue. However, you better prepare your wallet beforehand. These stores range from Saks Fifth Avenue, to Banana Republic, to Michael Kors. There is also Sunglass Hut, Express, GUESS, Free People, Aritzia, and many more! There are all different kinds of stores for all of your shopping needs! However, if you are not into the hustle and bustle of the mid town streets, try venturing down to Soho. They have great stores, but it has a much quieter, laid back feel. Be sure to reward yourself with a shopping spree while you’re here!
If you can’t tell, NYC is one of my favorite places. I hope you love it just as much as I do when you visit!
XOXO,
Have Some Wanderlust
