A trip to Europe has always been on my bucket list! I have had friends and family members take multiple trips to Europe, and it has sparked my interest in traveling there that much more. These are some of the place in Europe that are on my bucket list. Maybe after reading this, they’ll be on yours too!
Barcelona, Spain
Whenever I think of Barcelona, I automatically think of The Cheetah Girls. The beautiful architecture and the lively atmosphere could draw anyone in! There’s the beautiful trails of Park Güell, beachside nightclubs, and many sacred churches. There’s something for everyone, including the history-lover, the adventurer, the partier, and the happy couple. You’ll find a series of narrow streets and different alleys called Las Ramblas. This includes different restaurants, clubs, and a huge market! Barcelona truly has it all! If you’re looking for a tour, make sure you check out the sites made by Antoni Gaudi. These include Casa Milà, Casa Batlló, and La Sagrada Familia (which they reference in The Cheetah Girls). Wherever you decide to go in Barcelona, you will not be disappointed!
Paris, France
The “City of Love” is a place that everyone should see at least once in their lifetime. This is a huge tourist destination, but for a good reason! Paris is simply beautiful with the River Seine, amazing architecture, beautiful bridges, and cobblestone walkways. Everything seems much more graceful in Paris and there is so much to do! If you love sightseeing, you must make sure to see the Musée d’Orsay, take a trip to Versailles Palace, and, of course, see the Eiffel Tower. If you’re more of a shopper (like me), you will find designer stores on the Champs Élysées, or you can find adorable boutiques in Le Marais. While you’re in Paris, you must be adventurous to make the most out of your stay! Have a crêpe, a macaroon, or even escargot. You might actually like it!
Amsterdam, Netherlands
From seeing The Fault in Our Stars, you might think that there is not much to Amsterdam besides the infamous benches and coffee shops. However, that could not be further from the truth. There are amazing restaurants with amazing views, shopping in boutiques on Nine Little Streets, and many other incredible things to explore. If you love sightseeing, make sure to bike along a variety of different canals! If you love history, you must visit the Anne Frank House to look at the Holocaust through her lens. If you love art, make sure you check out the Van Gogh Museum. However, if you love having no plans and want to wander around, check out the Vondelpark. It is a huge urban park to walk or relax in! This trip is certainly one that you won’t regret!
Venice, Italy
Venice is incredibly mesmerizing. There are water taxis coasting along and you can sometimes see them passing underneath the Ponte degli Scalzi. However, Venice is known for their gondola rides. On some of these, you can find a violinist playing for a couple, family, or friends. These gondolas take you through the different waterways of the city. When you decide to take a tour of the land, you will pass different storefronts and homes. It is very easy to get lost here, but it is a very beautiful place to get lost in!
If you are more of a tour person, take a tour to see Saint Mark’s Basilica, Doge’s Palace, and the Gallerie dell’Accademia. If you’re looking for an opera, the Teatro La Fenice is the place to be! If you are looking for a beach, it is a short ferry ride onto the beautiful Lido Island! There is so much to try in this beautiful city.
After reading this, I hope that you’ve added visiting Europe to your bucket list. It is definitely at the top of mine!
XOXO,
Have Some Wanderlust
