Road Tripping: The Essentials

If you’re anything like me, then you’ve always wanted to go on a road trip. Road trips can be super fun, as long as you have all of the essentials with you! Whether you’re going on a one-hour road trip or you’re driving cross-country, you will need these things:
Snacks:
Snacks are the most important part of a road trip! At some point, you are bound to get hungry. The perfect road trip snacks are as follows: popcorn, pretzels, your favorite chips, and granola bars (preferably a chocolatey one). Those snacks are the easiest to handle because they come in their own packages. If you’re more of a health nut, don’t worry! You can still bring fruits and veggies. Just make sure you pack them in a container that will keep them cold!
Music:
Before you start any car ride, you are going to need music to keep up the positive vibes. Make sure you make playlists will all of your favorite songs on them! This includes throwback playlists, Disney playlists, summer hits of the 2000’s, and many more! No matter what you choose, make sure they are the length of the car ride. You don’t want to be replaying the same songs over and over, of course!
Games:
One of my favorite road trip games is called “I Spy.” This is when you say to someone, “I spy with my little eye…” and then you name a color. They then have to guess what you are thinking of based on the color you told them. Another fun game is the alphabet game. This is when everyone in the car starts with the same category and then one person starts with “A” and has to name something in that category that starts with that letter. It then goes down the entire alphabet until you get to the end. There are many more games to play, but these are my favorite two!
Pit Stops:
Of course, you are going to need to know where your pit stops are going to be! You can’t just go into a road trip blind. You will need to know where you are going to stop along the way at things such as gas stations, restrooms, restaurants, and even hotels if your road trip is multiple days before you reach your final destination! Plan these all out in advance for a stress-free trip!
Once your road trip comes to an end (sadly), then you will finally reach your destination (yay!).
I hope all of these essentials help you get through the long hours in the car. Enjoy the ride!
XOXO,
Have Some Wanderlust
